Undergraduate Peer Tutoring in Writing -- Spring 2022

This course encouraged conversations about writing practices, literacy, and linguistic justice in and beyond the University's Writing Center. We read theories regarding the ethics behind tutoring and revision, and how to empower writers.

The highlighted assignment here is my Literacy Narrative, in which I reflected on my personal history with language and writing, and how I want to use my experiences to help others.

Theories in Writing -- Fall 2022

This course explored various theories of writing and the writerly identity by dissecting several examples and emanating different genres.

The highlighted assignment is the Final paper, which consisted of multiple parts. The main aspect was to create our own theory of writing, and to then apply it to another text we had not written. Mine focuses on the inclusion and accessibility within language and storytelling.

Memoir & Personal Writing -- Winter 2023

This course "zoomed in" on the genre of memoirs and other forms of personal writing, encouraging us to explore different modes to express our personal stories.

The highlighted essay focuses on my music taste in 2020 and how its evolution helped me get through the pandemic and isolation.

Writing Design & Circulation -- Spring 2023

This capstone class encouraged us to reflect on our time in the Writing Minor, by having us create these portfolios to showcase our growth over the program.

Revision is a key element of these reflections, so I have revised a poem from a creative writing class and evolved it into a creative nonfiction essay.

Advanced Creative Writing: Nonfiction -- Spring 2022

This course was focused on generating texts based on close readings of various nonfiction works. We created several short pieces and one final culminating portfolio to showcase our growth over the quarter.

These are my stories.
